Therapeutic Support: Addressing Core Issues

At Living Waters, our therapeutic approaches are meticulously designed to address the underlying issues that young people may face. We understand that unresolved trauma and lack of emotional regulation skills can severely hinder a young persons development.

Through techniques like cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), and trauma-focused cognitive behavioural therapy (TF-CBT), we aim to equip young people with crucial coping strategies and anger management skills. By incorporating both individual and group counselling, children can feel heard while also learning from their peers.

Our therapists create a safe space for young people to process past traumas and experiences like neglect, abuse, grief, abandonment, and other adversities. We guide them through the journey of understanding their story, identifying negative thought patterns, and building resilience. With compassion and care, we support young people in overcoming hurdles to pave a brighter path forward.

The key focus areas of our therapeutic services include:

- Processing and resolving past trauma

- Building self-esteem and self-confidence

- Developing healthy emotional regulation

- Learning coping strategies for overwhelming emotions like anger and anxiety

- Acquiring interpersonal and conflict resolution skills

- Identifying and modifying unhelpful thinking patterns

- Fostering resilience and growth mindset

By tending to the emotional needs of our young people, we empower them to break free from the shackles of past struggles. Our therapeutic support services lay the foundation for healthy functioning, equipping young individuals to realize their highest potential.
