The structured daily schedule teaches valuable time management skills and helps youth practice self-discipline to work towards their objectives. At Living Waters, our life skills programs focus on building core competencies to help young people successfully transition into adulthood. We provide focused training across four key areas:
Financial Literacy
Learning sound financial management early on instils vital money skills. Our financial literacy workshops teach critical concepts like budgeting, saving, investing, and responsible spending. Through interactive lessons and exercises, young people gain practical knowledge to make informed financial decisions. Roleplaying real-world scenarios gives them hands-on practice applying their new skills.
Self-Care & Health
We empower young people to care for their overall wellbeing through sessions focused on nutrition, fitness, and healthy lifestyle habits. Our cheerful cooking classes teach young people how to prepare simple, nutritious meals. Young people can also join our yoga, dance, sports, and mindfulness programs tailored for their age group. Learning positive self-care skills helps them build lifelong healthy habits.
Social & Emotional Growth
Our dedicated counsellors help our young people to develop key social-emotional skills. This includes communication, anger management, conflict resolution, resilience, empathy, and positive self-concept. Young people gain insight into handling interpersonal relationships and managing overwhelming emotions. These abilities are vital for success in school, career, and life.
Education & Career Preparation
We support, young people to continue their academic journey in a supportive environment. We also offer career guidance and college prep tailored to each child's goals and aptitudes. Young people learn how to set SMART goals, build resumes, apply for jobs/college, and envision their bright future.
